The Ipath Locust Is Truly An Awesome Skate Shoe - See My Assessment To Determine Why

In the below paragraph, I’ll review my new favorite pair of ipath shoes, the Locust. Here we go:

Breaking these shoes in fully took slightly more time than I expected. I’d suggest holding out on skating with these shoes until you feel like you’ve broken them in completely. A day or two of wearing them at home or as general street wear ought to be ample to get the factory stiffness out of them. While we’re on the topic of comfort, something else to make note of is that the locusts are a hi top shoe, so you’ll prefer to wear full length socks to stop chafing. When you have them all broken in, the locust is just about the best fitting shoes I’ve ever had the pleasure of wearing. These kicks are good for skating in. I was initially worried they’d be a bit too wide, but they’re like a glove. They’re incredibly comfortable due to the additional padding allowed because of the wider size. Skate shoes that are sized true can be challenging to locate, so if you have sizing issues these shoes are definitely worth your consideration because of their accuracy in sizing. For anyone who is short on cash and you regularly use cheap skateboarding shoes give these a go. I think you’ll find that they’re worth throwing down a few bucks more for.

Grip is often a problem for skaters, but there’s no reason to worry with the Locust — It has the best grip of any skate shoes I’ve ever worn! My last pair of shoes were Vans, and the Locust blows them out of the water as much as grip is concerned. Board slippage just isn’t a concern if you’re wearing these kicks. A velcro strap will make sure that your feet stay in the shoe just as well as the shoe stays on the board.

The amount of wear I put shoes through is pretty intense, and the Locusts have endured my disregard for their health better than most. There’s a bit of wear in the toe stitching, but I skateboard 4-6 hours a day 7 days a week so that’s kind of expected. The one thing you may want to think about if durability is a huge issue for you is that the locust is a canvas shoe, so it won’t hold up as well in the long term as a leather shoe.

The Locusts feature what’s become a standard feature of skate shoes, the stash pocket, and are made from organically grown hemp and cotton in support of the environmental movement. On the list of other features of the shoe are a customizable ankle strap, foam padded lining, leather upper, and a high quality removable CHT insole. These also boast a shock absorbing gel heel system which is excellent particularly for big tricks when your heel impacts the ground hard.
