Repo Boat Auctions: Top 4 Sources for 2010
May0
The following represent the best resources to find bank repo boats for auction within North America. Other smaller boat auction sources exist but these will cover them all and then some. I haven’t listed any member based Government auction sites since Coast Guard or police auctions regardless of what you have read, don’t list boats worth the time of day.
Since I have pursued bank owned boats for sale for a little over six years, I have found that often times a great deal on a used vessel is more rewarding than the smell and shine of a brand new factory product.
Based on the last few years as well as our current economic climate, boats and jet ski’s liquidated at auction will probably continue to liquidate at a 30 to 40% discount versus dealer owned vessels.
Regardless of whether you’re a handy DIY type or you’re in the market to find a well conditioned repo boat for sale, the following sources are currently recognized as some of the most detailed boat auctions resources available online:
1. BoatAuctionsDirect.com — This website regularly updates and checks out nearly every boat auction source across North America and compiles them for quick access. It’s extremely comprehensive listing boats, jet skis, atvs, rvs, and equipment assets as well. I use it because it weeds out all the riff-raff sites.
2. BoatAuctionsInfo.com — This web resource posts a free listing of several of the most popular boat auction houses for free. Of course you won’t find all that’s really up for auction; however, it’s a good point to start.
3. YachtAuctions.com — National Liquidators is the largest yacht auction house on the planet and regarded as one of the main sources lenders and the Government use to liquidate repo boats in south Florida. Typically, they will have a minimum of 300-400 bank repossessed yachts in their yard.
4. GovernmentBoatauctions.org — All those “Gov’t” auction membership sites just aren’t worth it especially when they simply pull all their listings from the same 3-4 Government agency sources. You can access the same Government seized assets here for free.
These sites will give you a head start. Frequenting these sites will eventually put you in the right place at the right time without wasting time sifting the search engines for days. Good luck!
